Research assistant Caelyn Nordman represents the Affirm Lab at Walpole Pride!

During Walpole, Massachusetts' Pride Month Celebration, the Affirm Lab collaborated with the community to support LGBTQ+ well-being. Caelyn Nordman, a Research Assistant at the Affirm Lab, highlighted the Gender-Affirming Psychotherapy Training (GAPT), designed to improve mental health care for transgender and nonbinary clients.

Dr. Price presented at the virtual NIH SGM Youth Workshop.

The two-day virtual workshop, Promoting Mental Health for Sexual and Gender Minority Youth: Evidence-Based Developmental Perspectives, "convened researchers, youth advocates, and federal officials to review the state of the science on developmental trajectories of gender identity and sexuality with a focus on research aimed at the promotion of mental health for sexual and gender minority youth."

Dr. Maggi Price and Patrick Mulkern attended the Society for Social Work and Research annual conference in Washington, D.C.

The SSWR Annual Conference offers a scientific program that reflects a broad range of research interests. This years theme was: Recentering and Democratizing Knowledge: The Next 30 Years of Social Work Science, and it took place from January 10th-14th, 2024.

Dr. Maggi Price presented at the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies annual conference in Seattle, WA.

Dr. Maggi Price presented "Leveraging intervention science to reduce mental health inequities for stigmatized groups" on the Presidential Panel: "Transformative Ideas to Address the Ongoing Youth Mental Health Crisis." The panel featured “early/mid-career scholars conducting work to transform youth mental health care treatment, delivery, or dissemination models.”


Dr. Price also chaired the symposium "Conceptualizing Structural Transphobia: Measurement Innovations, Research Evidence, and Multilevel Solutions", and was a panelist for the "Innovative Intervention and Implementation Science to Promote Mental Health Equity for Stigmatized Youth" discussion.

Lisa Collins, Marina Rakhilin, and Justine Lee attended the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA)'s annual conference in Washington, D.C.

Lisa presented as a part of the symposium, "Engaging Hard to Reach Populations in Treatment for Depression and Anxiety."
