She joins Dr. Dixon and Dr. Berezin to discuss our recent Psychiatric Services publication: Gender-Affirming Psychotherapy (GAP): Core Principles and Skills to Reduce the Mental Health Care “GAP” for Transgender Youths.

During Walpole, Massachusetts' Pride Month Celebration, the Affirm Lab collaborated with the community to support LGBTQ+ well-being. Caelyn Nordman, a Research Assistant at the Affirm Lab, highlighted the Gender-Affirming Psychotherapy Training (GAPT), designed to improve mental health care for transgender and nonbinary clients.

The two-day virtual workshop, Promoting Mental Health for Sexual and Gender Minority Youth: Evidence-Based Developmental Perspectives, "convened researchers, youth advocates, and federal officials to review the state of the science on developmental trajectories of gender identity and sexuality with a focus on research aimed at the promotion of mental health for sexual and gender minority youth."

They provided information, snacks, and temporary tattoos to the 550 students and families who attended.

Her virtual presentation was entitled “Understanding and addressing multilevel stigma to promote mental health equity".

Her keynote address was entitled “Identity-based bullying: Harms and Solutions.”

Dr. Price's presented on Affirm Lab's Gender-Affirming Psychotherapy Training (GAPT).

Her presentation centered on ”Breaking Barriers to Healing: Confronting Stigma in Mental Health Treatment“.

Her presentation was entitled “Using community-engaged methods to overcome structural stigma and promote mental health equity”.

The SSWR Annual Conference offers a scientific program that reflects a broad range of research interests. This years theme was: Recentering and Democratizing Knowledge: The Next 30 Years of Social Work Science, and it took place from January 10th-14th, 2024.

Dr. Maggi Price presented "Leveraging intervention science to reduce mental health inequities for stigmatized groups" on the Presidential Panel: "Transformative Ideas to Address the Ongoing Youth Mental Health Crisis." The panel featured “early/mid-career scholars conducting work to transform youth mental health care treatment, delivery, or dissemination models.”

Dr. Price also chaired the symposium "Conceptualizing Structural Transphobia: Measurement Innovations, Research Evidence, and Multilevel Solutions", and was a panelist for the "Innovative Intervention and Implementation Science to Promote Mental Health Equity for Stigmatized Youth" discussion.

Moumina Khan graduated Tufts University with a BA in Clinical Psychology, Marissa Allen & Dylan Reyes graduated from the Boston College Mental Health Counseling program with an MA, and Marina Rakhilin graduated from the Boston College School of Social Work with an MSW.

The RADS Program aims to support interdisciplinary research projects between faculty in different disciplines, departments, and schools across Boston College.

Lisa presented as a part of the symposium, "Engaging Hard to Reach Populations in Treatment for Depression and Anxiety."
